A couple years ago, I randomly stopped into Smart Foodservice in Kennewick and was glad I did! Never been to one? Some folks think Smart Foodservice is for restaurants, food trucks and the like. It is, but it's for anyone else, too. It's a warehouse grocery store, kind of like Costco but on a smaller scale. You'll only find them in California, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington.

Now, I really don't need a super-dooper-giant can of tomato sauce or jalapenos, but there's a few things that I do buy there. Like a large bag of frozen scallops or other fish. Fresh cut meats of all kinds. I love the 'tubes' of beef jerky and meat sticks...best prices ever for that kind of thing! And the flavored syrups for coffee or sno-cones...such a huge selection of every flavor and all the sugar-free ones, too! You can only find 4 or 5 flavors at best in a regular grocery store.  And there's no better, cheaper place to buy enough candy to handle all your trick-or-treaters (if you're doing that this year).

Largely targeting restaurants, delis and other providers of food, the business is also a grocery game-changer for traditional consumers who buy in bulk.
