What can kids and parents expect?
F-U-N! There will be scavenger hunts, special activity sheets, and an interactive demo showing how watersheds operate. Each park will also host ranger-led nature hikes.
What time are the hikes?
The hikes are scheduled at both parks at 12 pm and at 1 pm. Be sure to wear appropriate clothing. Activities are weather dependent, so please check the Facebook Page.
How much does the event cost?
The Junior Park Ranger Event is FREE! However, a Discover Pass is needed for vehicle access to Sacajawea Historical State Park. Discover Passes are available at the Sacajawea Interpretive Center.
If you don't have a Discover Pass, you can purchase one through your local library branch.
Sacajawea Historical State Park is a Washington State Park at the confluence of the Snake and Columbia rivers where the Lewis and Clark expedition camped. The state park bears the name of Sacagawea, a Shoshone woman who helped the expedition.
Manhattan Project National Historical Park interprets one of the most transformative events of the 20th that ultimately ushered in the nuclear age with the development of the world’s first atomic bombs.
