As the temperatures are rising throughout the area, you would think that pet owners would know by now NOT to leave pets in a hot vehicle. It's going to be 90 degrees plus. It's a good reminder.

Often, I see pets left in a vehicle at a store. "It's just a couple of minutes." I get it, some pets do like to go for a ride every now and then. Please, NOT in this heat. Imagine wearing a fur coat in a hot car. No thank you. And, cracking the window doesn't help.

Also, a good reminder, if your pets are going to be outside, make sure they have enough water. This is basic for pets. Food and water.

As pet owners, we need to be mindful of their needs. When temps are on the rise, pavement heats up as well. We wear shoes. They don't. Our pets need to be sheltered from the sun, just as we do. We have umbrellas, pools, air-conditioned homes, and such.
