Nearly 20,000 children in the Pacific Northwest are in foster care. Moving from school to school makes it hard for them to learn and be prepared for college or the work place. Many drop out before finishing high school. You can help foster children by donating school supplies and allowing them to feel ready and confident for the first day of school (on Aug. 28 in Tri-Cities).
The National Association of Letter Carriers food drive "Stamp Out Hunger" happens this Saturday! This is the largest one day food drive in the nation. Last year the food drive collected more than 70.2 million pounds of food nationwide.
