Swimland’s Helen Chitty from Richland Passes at 91

Helen Chitty and her husband Howard, started Chitty's Swimland in 1958 in Richland. They pulled out the lawn and dug a 20 x 40-foot swimming pool. You probably know someone that learned to swim there!

Recently, Helen passed away.

Howard Chitty was also the PE teacher at Carmichael Middle School. He passed in 2005.

Daughter Tamara Chitty-Marlin continues the tradition with Marlin School of Swimming.
