House Bill 1065 has already made it through two committees, and as of Valentines Day, was being considered for a possible House Floor vote.

The bill, introduced by Democratic Rep. Steve Kirby, would reduce some of the penalties for possession and transfer of marijuana products outside of the state's transfer system (state stores as mandated by Initiative 502). But that's not what caught our attention.

It would also allow what is called "non-commercial transfer" (no cash involved) of marijuana products between two individuals aged 21 or older. In other words, sharing or gifted. If you don't believe it, read the synopsis contained at the website WashingtonVotes.org.
