About Stephen Wilson Jr.
Stephen Wilson Jr.’s path to music stardom has been anything but ordinary. Born and raised in the hollers of southern Indiana, Wilson Jr. has worn many hats — Golden Gloves boxing finalist, scientist, indie rock guitarist, and now, critically acclaimed country-rock troubadour.
In 2016, he left the lab life behind and signed a publishing deal with BMG Nashville. His songwriting chops quickly turned heads, leading to cuts by artists like Caitlyn Smith, Tim McGraw, and Old Dominion.
In 2023, his debut double album, søn of dad, launched him into the spotlight. Dedicated to his late father, the album was named the No. 1 Album of the Year by Holler, and received top honors from Rolling Stone and other industry media.
Now in 2025, Wilson Jr. is fresh off a sold-out U.S. run and supporting HARDY on the Jim Bob World Tour — including a massive finale at Madison Square Garden. He also released a deluxe edition of søn of dad, which includes his emotional rendition of “Stand By Me,” streamed tens of millions of times.
