Chrese Evans (previously named Olga), American-born granddaughter of Joseph, Stalin lives a peaceful life in Portland, Oregon, selling antiques and other vintage items.

Her mother, Svetlana Alliluyeva (Lana Peters), lived a rather eventful life inside and outside of the U.S.S.R. before defecting into the United States. Svetlana left her first two children in Russia after a visit to the American Embassy in India, sending them a letter to apologize for abandoning them for the United States.

After marrying for a third time, Alliuyeva had her daughter Olga almost twenty years after conceiving her first two children. Eventually, she visited her children in Moscow, bringing Olga along with her, who was neglected by her half-siblings. After a year, they moved again, and again and again, until finally staying in Wisconsin until she died at eighty-five from colon cancer.
