Seahawks New Offensive Coordinator Candidate Quest Continues

Since the Seattle Seahawks were dismissed, again, early in the NFL playoffs, and its been six years since the last NFC Championship Game appearance for Seattle, there seems to be an extra sense of urgency in Hawkville.

Russell Wilson was not too thrilled Offensive Coordinator Brian Schottenheimer was cut loose on January 12th after three seasons, the scapegoat for a faltering offensive squad down the stretch and into the playoffs that seemed to regress over the second half of the season.

The Seahawks coaching carousal of contenders has included fired New York Jets head coach Adam Gase, he's talked to the Hawks about the open O.C. position, which is interesting because Jamal Adams, who the Seahawks gave two first-round draft picks to the Jets to get him in a trade, basically trashed Gase on his way out of Gotham.

How would that dynamic work? And speaking of Adams, he's got some major physical issues he has to deal with in the off-season, what does that mean in the dance of signing him to a long term deal? He's a bit head strong, if you hadn't noticed.

Besides Gase, the Seahawks are reportedly considering Anthony Lynn, ex-Los Angeles Chargers head coach and former Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson, though the rumor in the City of Brotherly Love is that Pederson wants to take a year off. Coach Carroll said he is purposely casting out a wide net of names, adding and subtracting potential hires it seems daily, trying to find the right fit.
