SCAM! Publishers Clearing House Isn’t Calling Richland Citizens!
The balloons, the hoopla, and the CASH! We all dream of it but again if it's too good to be true, it probably is!
A new scam is circulating around the City of Richland, don't fall for it!
We all remember the commercials of Dick Clark and Ed McMahon and Publishers Clearing House and their Prize Patrol surprising you with a million dollars a year for life and it looks like the magazine company is now part of a scam in Richland.
Richland Police fielded several calls and posted the scam on their Facebook page:
RPD has received complaints of a person claiming to be from Publishers Clearing House telling people they have won a 3rd place prize which includes a new truck and $7500 a week for 6 months.
The "winners" are being asked to provide the caller with their financial information as proof of identity at which time they'd receive their prize.
Richland Police say that if you a call like this, do not provide your personal information. Instead, report the unwanted phone calls to the Federal Trade Commission by visiting:
It would be nice if the Prize Patrol rolled up on you but remember if you've never bought anything from Publishers Clearing House, the odds are that they won't be showing up on your doorstep to award you a million dollars. Don't let yourself get scammed out of your identity and money.
