Rhinos, Giant Elk, Zebras and Mastodons Once Roamed the Mid-Columbia!

Imagine driving along I-82 and seeing GIANT ELK along the highway! Today's elk are huge so think about how big a giant one would be! You've probably heard about the mastodon dig sites in our area, but what about a rhinoceros? Yep, they were here about 8.5 million years ago! As were zebras and ground sloths. Not many dinosuar fossils have ever been found in Washington because it was all under water when they roamed the earth.
