An unoccupied home in Kennewick was destroyed by fire overnight.

The Kennewick Police Department and fire crews were called out to the 5600 block of West Metaline Avenue for a residential fire just before 4 am.

Upon arrival, it was learned the structure was unoccupied. Fire crews were able to contain the fire and extinguish the blaze.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
