It's still weird to think that the Pendleton Round-Up didn't happen this year. That event brings so much money to the community and the impact is being felt. That's why Pendleton Whisky has created the "Let'er Buck Challenge." You can help raise money, up to $150k, with a simple hash tag. Details in the press release below.

The Official Whisky of the Pendleton Round-Up launches social media challenge to raise funds for community organizations impacted by the cancellation of the 2020 Pendleton Round-Up

Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2020: Like many rodeos around the country, The Pendleton Round-Up canceled its annual celebration, scheduled to take place in its hometown of Pendleton, Oregon last week. Each year rodeo fans make a pilgrimage to the iconic Western town for the Round-Up, bringing a welcome boost to the local community and economy. In an effort to help various community organizations impacted by this year’s cancellation, the Pendleton Round-Up and Oregon Community Foundation established the Let’er Buck Cares Fund.

Pendleton Whisky is proud to toast the Pendleton Round-Up and give back to the local community in Pendleton during this challenging time. The whisky brand, which proudly shares a name with the town of Pendleton and its prestigious rodeo, launched the Let’er Buck Challenge to raise awareness for and encourage donations to the Let’er Buck Cares Fund.

Fans are invited to post a toast to the Pendleton Round-Up on their own social media channels with the hashtag #LeterBuckChallenge and tag three friends to pass it on. For every use of the hashtag on social media through October 18, 2020, Pendleton Whisky will donate $1 to the Let’er Buck Cares Fund, up to $150,000.

While rodeo fans cannot attend the Pendleton Round-Up this September, Pendleton Whisky encourages them to celebrate and support the Pendleton community by taking part in the Let’er Buck Challenge and contributing directly to the Let’er Buck Cares Fund at pendletonwhisky.com/leter-buck-challenge.

About Pendleton Round-Up

The Pendleton Round-Up has long been heralded as the world’s most iconic rodeo, and is held in Pendleton, Oregon, the second full week in September each year. Established in 1910 and inducted into the ProRodeo Hall of Fame in 2008, the rodeo began as a frontier exhibition of picturesque pastimes, Indian and military pageantry, cowboy racing and bronco busting. Rich in history and heritage, today the Pendleton Round-Up preserves the cowboy and western spirit and honors the integral Native American history of the Pacific Northwest. A Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) sanctioned event, the Pendleton Round-Up draws thousands of patrons each year and was voted PRCA ‘Large Outdoor Rodeo of the Year’ in 2003, 2010, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019. In addition to PRCA sanctioned events, edge-of-your-seat exhibitions include the Indian Relay Racing, the longest women’s professional barrel racing pattern known as the “Green Mile,” wild cow milking and unique Native American dancing.
