The strong bond between country queens Patsy Cline and Loretta Lynn is the subject of an upcoming Lifetime movie titled Patsy & Loretta, and fans can get their first look at the film in a newly released trailer.

Cline was already a singing star when Lynn first entered the music business, and they built a friendship as they were both building their careers and dealing with their various struggles not only in the business, but in their personal lives. The trailer above shows them forging a close friendship in the wake of Cline's devastating car accident, and reveals how the more experienced and worldly singer took Lynn under her wing and encouraged her in the difficult early days of her rise to stardom.

Their friendship endured through Lynn's trials and tribulations with her husband, Doolittle “Mooney” Lynn, and her private struggles with his infidelity, drinking and anger issues are also revealed in the trailer for Patsy & Loretta. Lynn's friendship with Cline continued until Cline died in a plane crash in 1963 at the age of 30, and one particularly wistful scene shows Cline assuring her friend, "It's gonna be me and you, together forever."

Patsy & Loretta features Megan Hilty from Smash as Cline and Broadway star Jessie Mueller as Lynn. Kyle Schmid from Six portrays Charlie Dick, Cline's second husband, and Joe Tippett from Rise plays Lynn's husband.

The movie shoot in Nashville with Nashville's Callie Khouri directing from a script by Angelina Burnett, whose credits include The Americans. Neil Meron (Hairspray, Chicago) produced the film, with Cline's daughter Julie Fudge and Lynn's daughter Patsy Lynn Russell — who is named after Cline — serving as co-producers.

Loretta Lynn turned to Facebook to share the trailer for the film and recall her friend fondly, writing, "I sure loved Patsy. It broke my heart when we lost her. We always had lots of fun together."

Patsy & Loretta is set to premiere on Lifetime at 8PM ET/PT on Oct. 19.
