Moses Lake Corporal Drove Ahead of the Chase and Made the Tackle [VIDEO]

Moses Lake Police took another DUI driver off the road, however, there was somewhat of a hassle involved.

Last week, a traffic chase turned into a foot pursuit. The alleged DUI driver led two Moses Lake Police Officers on a vehicle chase.

The DUI Driver Bailed Out of the Vehicle

The driver ran for about three blocks, with Officers Duke and Truijillo following. According to the Moses Lake Police Department:

While the young, fit officers impressed us with how much ground they covered on foot, they didn’t catch the suspect. Instead, it was the wily veteran, Corporal Mengist, who made the collar.

Mengist Was Listening to the Radio When He Learned of the DUI Driver on the Run

Corporal Mengist drove past the two officers on foot, catching up to the DUI runner. He was able to tackle the suspect and take him into custody. Moments later, both Officers Duke and Truijillo arrived to assist.
