Man Hit by Truck in Columbia Park is in Critical Condition

A man struck by a truck in the dark while walking along Columbia Park Trail Road on Sunday is in critical condition.

Justin D. Poteet, a 27-year-old Prosser man, was reported to be walking in the middle of the street around 6:30 p.m. by a concerned driver worried his behavior might get him hit by a car, according to news reports.

Before police could respond, around a minute later, they received another report that the man had been hit by a truck from behind.

The driver of the truck stayed at the scene until first responders arrived and treated Poteet. He suffered severe head trauma and was transported to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland.
