Man Ejected from Motorized Wheelchair in Kennewick Crash
A Friday evening crash remains under investigation after a 76-year-old man was struck in his motorized wheelchair and seriously hurt.
Police say the accident occurred at the intersection of North Volland and Imnaha Streets. The man was riding in his motorized wheelchair when he was hit by a car. The man, whose name was not released, is known to many in the area as his wheelchair has an American flag on a visibility whip antenna.
The crash actually ejected him from the chair, after the crash it was seen lying on it's side in the road. He was initially treated at an area hospital, and air lifted by Life Flight to another facility for more intensive care.
NO other details have been released, Kennewick Police say it's still an active investigation. Police are asking anyone who may have security cameras in the immediate area to check their footage, or allow police to see their footage from the time of the accident.
