Make Your Own Irish Cream at Home
Social media has been flooded with recipes lately, people are getting back to basics and cooking from scratch. Lots of homemade dinners and projects have consumed my Facebook feed and I am loving the ideas.
So I decided to try my luck at a homemade project, OF COURSE I chose to make my own Irish Cream and I am blown away with the results.
Ingredients:
1 cup heavy whipping cream
1 - 14oz can sweetened condensed milk
3 tablespoons chocolate syrup (I used Hershey's)
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
2/3 cup (cold) whiskey
In a blender combine whipping cream, sweetened condensed milk, chocolate syrup and vanilla extract. Blend on low (or I used pulse) for 20/30 seconds. Be sure not to overblend so it doesn't curdle. Add the chilled whiskey and blend a few seconds longer, just enough to mix the whiskey.
You can also add 2 or 3 teaspoons of powdered cappuccino or fine coffee granules to add a coffee flavor, I personally like it without the extra flavoring.
I am so pleased with the results I will never buy already made irish cream again and my Saturday morning coffee will never be the same!
