Brilliant Idea! This WA Store Sells Everyone’s Locally Crafted Stuff
Some of the most talented craftspeople in the world come from right here in good ol' Washington state. People making their own jewelry, stickers, candles, scents, wood art, and so much more, there's a lot of great work coming from our area with people and their side hustles and, sometimes, their primary source of income.
But where to sell it?
How to get people to know your art exists?
Well, there's a lot you can do on social media but even with that so much of it is word of mouth.
Where to find this store?
This store in Spokane, Washington, The Local Biz Shoppe, is a shop in one of their local malls that's full of locally crafted items for people to browse and purchase. If you find yourself in downtown Spokane at River Park Square you'll find this right in front of you after you take the first center escalator up to the 2nd floor. You can't miss it.
It's fun to browse just to see what they have and seems they get new stuff and new sellers often enough. Maybe something new every time you visit.
When we visited last one of the employees also had their own items for sale on the shelves. I'm not sure if every employee also has items or maybe this store was started by them and invited others to sell, too. Either way, what a fun idea!
The closest thing we have to something like this, that I know of, is Yakima's Ship Shop near Walgreens on 40th and Summitview that does carry local items on the shelf. But I could totally see a local Yakima version of this store at Valley Mall or Glenwood Square.
Here's a few photos of what it looks like inside the shop.
