Its that time of year again! its the 14th annual "Kids fishing Day" at the Columbia Park pond. The first 1200 kids will receive a free rod and reel combo.

Kids Outdoor Education (KOE), a local non-profit group, is sponsoring two days of fishing for kids between the ages of 5 and 14 and local residents with special needs. On the evening of Friday, May 10th, the 6th annual Special Needs Fishing Event will be held at Columbia Park Pond in Kennewick. Participants will need to register with the ARC of the Tri-Cities or by phone at 509-783-1131. The event will be held from 5pm to 7pm.On May 11th.

 The 14th annual Kid’s Fishing Day will be held, also at Columbia Park Pond in Kennewick.
Fishing times are scheduled at 9am, 10:30am, noon, and 1:30pm.
Registration is $10. A new rod and reel is included with your registration. The Saturday event fills fast so please register as early as possible. Registration is available online through Kennewick Parks and Recreation by clicking the YELLOW “Register Here On-Line” button.The KOE website
The pond will be stocked with over 5,000 large rainbow trout for the two events. In addition,
many of the fish will be tagged. A great selection of prizes, all donated by local businesses, will be awarded for tagged fish caught during the events. There will be plenty of volunteers on hand to help out and there is even a fish cleaning station!
