Kenny Chesney must really know what’s good for him, because the country idol is releasing ‘You and Tequila,’ a song that features female rocker and rising star Grace Potter, as his next single.

“I was looking for somebody to record it with me, and I thought of Grace Potter because I love her singing and love her records,” Chesney says in a statement. “I didn’t know her, but I got in touch with her, played her the song and literally three days later she was in Nashville, and we cut it.”

For two people who don’t know one another all that well, Chesney and Potter are like a match made in music heaven. The two harmonize beautifully in the chorus:

“You and tequila make me crazy / You’re like poison in my blood / One more night could kill me, baby / One is one too many / One more is never enough.”

We think Potter does great things for this Chesney tune — not to say that he needs the help. The ‘She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy’ hitmaker marked his 22nd No. 1 single this week with his ‘Live a Little,’ and this next song up to bat just may send him to the big 23.

‘You and Tequila,’ the fourth single release from Chesney’s 2010 album, ‘Hemingway’s Whiskey,’ will be followed by a music video that was recently filmed in Malibu, due out next month. We only have two thumbs, but we’ve got 10 fingers and this tune deserves every single one of them, and then some.
