Kennewick Police & K9 Ivan Capture Domestic Violence Suspect
Kennewick Police and K9 Ivan successfully apprehended a Domestic Violence offender.
On Thursday at about 9:30 pm Kennewick Police were called out to an assault in the 3100 block of West Hood Avenue. The suspect, 36-year old Carlos Garrido had fled the scene before officers arrived. Police found probable cause to arrest Garrido for Assault 2nd degree Domestic Violence and Interfering With Report of Domestic Violence.
The next day, Friday, June 7th, just before 1 pm, Kennewick Police were dispatched again to the 3100 block of West Hood Avenue for information on the suspect.
Carlos Garrido was reportedly in the area on a bicycle and armed with a knife.
Officers arrived quickly to the scene and located Carlos in the area. He was ordered to stop. He refused and instead took off into a neighboring apartment complex.
K9 Ivan was brought in to assist. You know what happened next.
Containment was set up in the area. A short time later, Ivan successfully tracked Carlos in the area. When confronted, Garrido gave up and was taken into custody.
Carlos Garrido was booked into the Benton County Jail for a felony arrest. Garrido is charged with Assault 2nd Degree, Interfering with Report of Domestic Violence, and Obstructing a Public Servant.
