Kennewick Business Owners Pays Off School Lunch Debts

Steve and Jessy Lee owners of Green to Go have made a substantial dent in local school lunch debts recently when they paid over $10,000 towards overdue school lunch debts.

I spotted the story in the Tri-City Herald this morning and it touched a part of my heart because Mr. Lee discusses growing up poor and getting the fre lunch at school and the stigma of it. I also grew up poor and got a free lunch and I remember it being so embarrassing.

Steve and Jessy paid off the entire outstanding school lunch balance in Burbank totaling $2,500 and a third of the outstanding debt in Kennewick by donating Just over $8,000 dollars. The Kennewick School District's outstanding school lunch debt totals $25,000.
