Fall Wild Mushroom Show is Free to Attend on October 22

"Hey, is that mushroom edible?"
"Every mushroom is edible at least once."

Washington State is a wonderful area for mushroom hunting.

If you didn't know or were aware, Yakima has a growing mushroom society full of mushroom enthusiasts who love to collect, gather, showcase, and, of course, eat.

If you've ever been curious or are maybe looking for a new hobby to get you out of the house, the Yakima Valley Mushroom Society is holding a free show for all to attend. And, yes, that's not a typo, I said it was 100% free to show up, hang out, and chat with mushroom enthusiasts.

Join the Yakima Valley Mushroom Society at the Arboretum on Sunday, October 22nd from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

You'll see mushroom exhibits, displays, examples of which ones are edible and poisonous or even valueless. Over 100 kinds of mushrooms will be featured.

You're also encouraged to bring your own mushrooms if you had questions. Maybe you have some weird ones growing in your backyard and didn't quite know what they are. Bring them to the mushroom experts who can help you identify them.

There will also be fun gifts and guides for sale.

Sounds like a super fun time and perhaps a new hobby you can get into right here in your own backyard with a lot of members already willing to help you on your new journey on being a mushroom expert.
