Ready for a fun road trip? Try Roslyn. There are some fun things to do in this tiny town of less than a thousand residents.

Although the acclaimed hit series Northern Exposure helped put Roslyn on the map of places to see in Washington State, it's nothing like the fictional town of Cicely, Alaska. You won't see any moose wandering around, that's just on the TV show (that's set in Alaska).

There are, however at least three landmarks in Roslyn that were featured in the TV show that I recommend you visit.

  • The Cemetery
  • The Radio Station Where the Character Chris Hosted His Daily Town Radio Show
  • The Colorful Mural That the Moose Walks in Front of in Northern Exposure's opening theme song credits

Things to Do in Roslyn, Washington

1. Take a Selfie at the mural at Roslyn Cafe

The Roslyn Cafe, where I had a delicious burger almost exactly ten years ago, is permanently closed, unfortunately. I still recommend you stop by and take a selfie in front of the mural. Yes, the locals will know you're a tourist (but ask me if that bothers me)!

2. Pull Up a Chair and Make a New Friend at The Brick

100 W Pennsylvania Ave

3. Visit the Museum

203 W Pennsylvania Ave

4. Go See a First-Run Movie at Roslyn Theatre

5. Get Some Pizza at Village Pizza

6. Visit the Cemetery

Yes, I know that's a strange request, but locals and visitors say it's a must-see.

7. Sightsee the "KBHR Radio" Studio

If all else fails, at least you'll enjoy the quiet ride into (and out of) town. You'll swear you're inside a 90s television set!
