Kennwick, Richland, Cancel National Night Out Events, Richland Reschedules Already
Due to the smoky skies, and adverse conditions from Northwest fires, both Kennewick and Richland have canceled their National Night Out events slated for Tuesday, August 4th.
Richland Has Already Rescheduled Theirs
An estimated 38 million people in 17,000 communities across all 50 states participate in these events, which are designed to promote community, safe policing, and neighborhood camaraderie.

Food vendors, exhibits and displays and activities for people of all ages were slated to take place tomorrow. Richland has already rescheduled their event for August 20th, Thursday, at Howard Amon Park from 5 PM to 7:30 PM.
Has Kennewick Done So?
According to the City theirs was to be held at the Southridge Sports Complex:
"Thank you event partners Tsunami Catering, Kennewick Police Department Foundation, and RAZR Restoration for their support in making National Night Out possible."
Kennewick has not yet indicated if they will reschedule their event. Many other communities in WA have also canceled or postponed their National Night Out Events due to smoke and air quality. According to sources, 131 WA Cities and Towns regularly participate in the event.
