So far, the Washington State Patrol has not released any details about the motorcycle rider who died late Saturday night at the south end of Kennewick.

  The Crash Occurred at the South End of Highway 395

Around 10:50 PM, according to the WSP and Kennewick Police, the rider was headed north on Highway 395 when they slammed into the back of a semi-truck at the intersection of Hildebrand and 395.

WSP says the truck was stopped at the red light when the rider hit it.  WSP says the rider was on a 2008 "specially constructed" motorcycle, according to the Tri-City Herald.

Troopers did not elaborate on that. KPD said traffic was down to one lane as investigators continues work the scene, they and WSP said traffic returned to normal around 5 AM Sunday morning.

 Were Drugs or Alcohol Involved?

WSP said intoxicants were not involved, but the rider was traveling too fast.  The semi-truck driver was not hurt, the investigation continues.
