WSP Announces Increased Patrols for WSU Return-to-School Rush

Starting August 12th and running through August 16th, you can expect WSP to be out on the roads and looking for speeding, distracted/impaired driving, and other collision-causing violations during the emphasis.

According to the WSP, improper lane travel, driving left of the centerline, and speeding remain a major cause of collisions across the state.

Where can you expect to see the troopers? State Routes 26 & 195, as well as Interstate 90 over Snoqualmie Pass, will be the most heavily patrolled highways by the WSP.

Troopers will have zero tolerance for drivers who are found to be impaired while behind the wheel. Additionally, motorists should refrain from driving distracted.

As your students head back to school, you might want to sit them down as a parent and explain to them the consequences of driving while impaired and other infractions they could get during these emphasis patrols over the next few weeks.
