What? Really? Cheaper Gas On The Way With Colder Temps in WA
Cheaper gas prices are on the way say officials from GasBuddy. The national average has plunged 38 cents over the last month and stands at $3.44 per gallon. GasBuddy officials say the national average price of gas now stands at its lowest since March 28, and is projected to drop another 10 to 20 cents by the end of the year.
WELL DIDN'T WE EXPECT PRICES TO DROP AT THIS TIME OF YEAR???
Like you may have figured the downturn in gas prices is tied to seasons including a lower consumption of gas during the colder months along with a changeover to winter gasoline, which has now been done in every state. GasBuddy officials say the decline in gas prices has been "astounding but not completely surprising as we finally get back to a more typical fall, which in recent years has seen impacts from Covid and Russia’s war on Ukraine disrupting seasonal changes,” says Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy.
MORE PRICE DROPS ARE ON THE WAY MAYBE HERE IN THE WEST
He says he expects gas price drops to continue through November and into December. He says 33 states are seeing gas prices at or below $2.99 a gallon. Will the price drop come to the Pacific Northwest? He says "the West Coast should see prices at more places falling below $3.99 in the weeks ahead.”
Do you shop around for the best price? Do you drive to Wapato for the cheapest gas in the state? De Haan says shopping around "can add up to $5 to $10 on just a single fill up."
