In Governor Jay Inslee's press conference Thursday, he admitted if the state reaches 100% vaccination rate and we still have high COVID cases, perhaps the 'science' was wrong.

In speeding through a plethora of topics, he began by saying "vaccination is the only way out" of the COVID pandemic.

As for the extension of vaccine mandates to private businesses, he said the state would be watching OSHA movement at the Federal level closely.

He spoke of the FDA approval for children 5-12 receiving COVID vaccines, and said several hundred thousand doses will be coming soon.  He said 94% of state-paid workers as being compliant between vaccines, and  'only' 2.9% percent were fired.

Otherwise he ignored those workers.

But perhaps most telling was his admission that perhaps the science would be wrong when it comes to the science. He claimed if 100 vaccination rate and COVID continues, the science could be wrong.

As for the extension of vaccine mandates to private businesses, he said the state would be watching OSHA movement at the Federal level closely.

He did however, praise the mandatory state program for forcing workers to get vaccine or get fired, that it provided results he was happy with. So it appears he would be 'happy' in future to pressure private workers with same 'threat,' get the vaccine or get fired.

That refers to the Biden mandate for businesses of 100 persons or more, which is being legally challenged in 24 states as of last week.

When asked about mandatory vaccine proof for restaurants and other venues statewide he said it's not right for the state right now, and continues to be watched.

Otherwise, the conference did not offer any concrete or major announcements.

He also addressed the leaving of Secretary of State Kim Wyman who will be assuming an election position with the Department of Homeland Security, and did not hesitate to get in a few shots to a reporter's question concerning GOP legislators wanting a Republican to be named to the position.
