I was three minutes late to a really important job interview once (the security guard wouldn't let me park) and I could tell the interviewer was annoyed. Apparently, according to a study, it would have been better if I was only two minutes late.
That's right, research reveals that most people don't consider you late within a specified time frame. For an interview, it's two minutes. For a family party, it's 13.5 minutes! For a date, about 4.5 minutes is OK. Fascinating.
