One driver is recovering from injuries suffered after crashing their vehicle on Sunday night. The driver had to be pulled from the wreckage.

The Single-Vehicle Crash Happened on Highway 16 in Tacoma

The motorist was traveling eastbound on Highway 16 at about 10:30 pm when they lost control and crashed.

Crews Spotted the Crashed Vehicle and Called for Assistance

Tacoma Fire Engine 17 came upon the single-car crashed at EB Highway 16 and Sprague. They called for additional crews. According to Tacoma Fire, rescue crews had to extricate the driver out of the vehicle.

As paramedics arrived, they were able to treat and stabilize the patient before transporting them to a local hospital for treatment.

The crash blocked two eastbound lanes for more than an hour. Washington State Patrol is investigating what caused the driver to crash.
