As we hit the upper 80s by the end of this week, Sunday's forecast calls for mid 90s, while Monday and Tuesday call for highs in the low triple-digits.

An Extreme Heat Warning is issued when extremely dangerous heat conditions are expected or occurring. Avoid outdoor activities, especially during the heat of the day. If you must be outside, be sure to drink plenty of water and take frequent breaks in the shade. Stay indoors in an air-conditioned space as much as possible, including overnight. Check on family and neighbors.

• Stay hydrated...Drink lots of water during and after any activity.
• Take breaks...Seek shade or air conditioning and rest up.
• Sun protection...Apply sunscreen, wear a hat, and light clothing.
• Monitor symptoms...Be aware of heat exhaustion and heat stroke, (dizziness, nausea, headache), seek help if needed.
• Consider timing...Walk pets in the early morning and later in the evening.
• Supervise children...Always supervise younger persons in the heat.

Thank goodness, relief is expected by Wednesday and Thursday.
