I know some folks who think drones are an invasion of privacy, but since my wife and I don't sunbathe nude anymore (okay, never did) and we're not accustomed to breaking the law on a regular basis, I don't care if a drone is flying around, watching.


Then of course there are those that would rather escape the long arm of the law and not have to battle technology. With so many people investing in affordable security cams, and social media helping track down clown thieves on a daily basis, it's getting harder for them to escape without penalty.

Enter the drone.

This isn't the first time I've seen the Franklin County Sheriff's Office post about their use of drones, and I'm amazed by it every time. What a wonderful tool. What a perfect eye in the sky. Back in the day, they had to alert the chopper pilot to get the bird in the air at a cost of thousands of dollars per flight. Now all they have to do is make sure the batteries are charged on the drone, and away we go! The old saying when it comes to police is that you can't outrun a Motorola. I think we can add drones to the list also.
