The arrest was made in September, but now details are finally being released about a former Mexican law enforcement officer who was arrested for a 1994 murder. Wednesday, he was sent back to Mexico

Immigrations And Customs Enforcement (ICE) and other federal officials took 64-year-old Humberto Bastista-Sanchez into custody in Richland September 15th.  Officials had received a tip he was living there, and the arrest was made.

Sanchez was held by officials since then, and Wednesday of this week he was extradited back to Mexico at the San Ysdrido Port of Entry.

Sanchez was the subject of a manhunt for years, after he allegedly beat a man to death in Mexico City. The man had reportedly refused to get into a police car after he was being arrested for urinating in the street, this according to an Interpol Red report and the Mexican arrest warrant.

No information was released about how long he had been in Richland, or why he fled here from Mexico.
