The Tri-Cities and Columbia  Basin is experiencing yet another day under an air stagnation advisory meaning the air quality is very poor and could cause breathing difficulties for certain groups of people

Here's the Warning from the national weather center:

AIR STAGNATION ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM PST
WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...Poor air quality.

* WHERE...In Washington, Eastern Columbia River Gorge, Kittitas
  Valley, Yakima Valley, Lower Columbia Basin and Foothills of
  the Blue Mountains. In Oregon, East Columbia River Gorge,
  Lower Columbia Basin, Foothills of the Northern Blue
  Mountains, Foothills of the Southern Blue Mountains and North
  Central Oregon.

* WHEN...Until 4 PM PST Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Poor air quality may cause issues for people with
  respiratory problems.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

State air quality agencies highly recommend that no outdoor
burning occur and that residential wood burning devices be
limited as much as possible. According to state air quality
agencies, prolonged periods of stagnant air can hold pollutants
close to the ground where people live and breathe. Check with
your local burn agency for any current restrictions in your area.

 

This air quality is particularly bad for the elderly, children and those with Asthma, etc... people in those groups should avoid outdoor activities.
