Well, my parents said I was Biblically inspired....John. Pretty basic. But what are some of the names we just don't see 'in vogue' anymore?
What are the LEAST popular baby names now?
A name is important. It's something a child will carry til at least 18, and if they don't like it they change it. But styles and preferences change over the years.
According to the website parentology.com, they have lists of the most popular baby names through 2020 and into 2021. It was actually difficult to find any lists of the LEAST favorite names. Everyone does lists of the most popular. They ALSO have lists of least-used names or ones that have dropped off the radar.
Here are names that have dropped considerably in popularity over the last few years. For girls, they include: (in no particular order)
Renee
Ann
Berkley
Harriet
Queen
Sariah
Beatrix
Sandra
Alannah
Austyn
My wife works with an "Austyn." And for boys, here are some of the least-used these days:
Anson
Merrick
Wes
Will
Jaxen
Maxim
Howard
Jad
Jesiah
Ignacio
Because this is a list of the least popular, we're not going to even mention the most used. But many of these names are cool, and just because many people gravitate to certain names doesn't mean the lesser-used ones are not great.
Our youngest daughter is Harley, and as she said since she was 3-4 years old "just like the motorcycle." It fits her attitude and spirit.
We found a few other lists, but they were UK-based (England) and some of them we'd never even heard of. This list is based upon most U.S.-based data.
