Director, writer, and actor HAROLD RAMIS passed away yesterday morning
from complications related to autoimmune inflammatory vasculitis . . . a condition he'd been battling over the past four years. He was 69.
He was a comedy LEGEND, best known for playing Egon Spengler in the "Ghostbusters"
movies, but he also co-wrote them . . . along with "Animal House", "Meatballs", "Stripes",
and "Caddyshack", which he directed.
He also directed "National Lampoon's Vacation", and wrote and directed "Groundhog Day",
"Analyze This", and "Analyze That".
More recently, he directed a few of episodes of "The Office", and showed up as SETH
ROGEN'S dad in "Knocked Up".
