DEALS & DEBUTS AT CINCO de MAYO CELEBRATION IN PASCO

Mark your calendars! Saturday, May 3, is a big day for Downtown Pasco and the Downtown Pasco Development Authority (DPDA).  The DPDA hosts the annual and ever-popular Cinco de Mayo celebration including parade and musical performances, it’s the 2014 season opening of the Pasco Farmer’s Market and it’s launch day for the Passport to Pasco loyalty rewards program.

Cinco de Mayo tends to boast bigger celebrations in the United States than Mexico and this year will be no exception in Pasco. While officially Cinco de Mayo heralds the victory of the smaller and ill-equipped Mexican army over the French in the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862, not as its Day of Independence which it is often mistaken for, the day has become a cultural staple for many Mexican-American citizens.
