Ag News: Don’t Fear Fruits and Veggies, and USDA Still Open
**Don’t let fear of the COVID-19 coronavirus keep you from eating fresh fruits and vegetables. That’s the message from Purdue University’s Department of Food Science.

**As President Trump continues his efforts during this COVID-19 National Emergency, the USDA wants Americans to know they are still open for business.
Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue made that announcement to reassure everyone that the U.S. supply chain remains strong and to thank those on the front lines: grocery store employees, truck drivers, food service workers, school lunch workers, AND USDA’s food safety inspectors ensuring the food we eat is safe, healthy, and nutritious.
**The EPA is releasing an expanded list of registered disinfectant products for use against the novel coronavirus that causes COVID-19.
The list contains nearly 200 additional products, including 40 new products that went through the agency's expedited review process.
While these disinfectants have not been tested specifically against COVID-19, they are expected to be effective because they’ve been proven effective on either a harder-to-kill virus or against a similar coronavirus.
