A Kennewick grad has landed a role in the new movie about Olympic figure skater Tonya Harding called "I, Tonya".

Ricky Russert, who plays the drifter Shane Stant that attacks Nancy Kerrigan with a stick in the new movie, grew up here in the Tri-Cities.

He graduated from Kennewick High and was very active in sports. While he was at WSU on a baseball scholarship, he fell in love with acting and swapped the cleats for the theater, according to IMDb.

During his time at WSU he was in plays like "The Shape of Things," "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof," "Fool For Love," and as Lago in "Othello."

After graduating in 2005, Russert moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting, opened a production company, and worked with the legendary Dick Clark.

He had held roles in productions like Touch, Desire, Table for Three (Fox Productions) and, in 2013, and landed the part of "Tommy Littlestone" on the Cinemax Original Hit Series, Banshee.
