Sadly over the weekend a Cowlitz County deputy was shot and killed during a traffic stop. This is the 2nd time a police officer has been killed in the line of duty in Washington state in the last 30 days....

The shooting took place Saturday night when deputy Justin DeRosier age 29 stopped to check out a disabled RV on the side of the road. That is when the deputy was shot, DeRosier was airlifted to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

DeRosier leaves behind a Wife and baby girl.

Incidentally 2 men were arrested  and another killed are suspects in this crime...

According to KATU 2 News:

  Law enforcement officers shot and killed a suspect Sunday evening who emergency dispatchers say is connected to the death of a Cowlitz County deputy the previous night.

Authorities say there is no longer a threat in the Southwest Washington community of Kalama after Deputy Justin DeRosier's death. No officers were hurt in the shooting.
