I think it's safe to say Normand Lariviere of Olympia, WA has no love lost for the federal government.

But to cut off your own finger and send it in? For what, again?

His latest stunt, however, goes beyond bizarre and is now officially criminal.

Federal authorities say the the 68-year old was upset about having to pay taxes so he mailed the Internal Revenue Service office in Ogden, UT a little something extra: a fake bomb.

Court papers say a previous package sent to the IRS also contained marijuana, a bullet, and Lariviere's own severed finger.

A special agent with the Federal Protective Service said Lariviere has been upset with the IRS and other federal agencies since he was laid off in the 1990s from his position as a civilian defense contractor. Having served eight years in the Navy, his grievances began piling up with the Department of Defense and the IRS to the point of concerning behavior (like sending in your own severed finger) and when contacted after that incident he admitted it and readily showed investigators the home made machine he used to cut himself.

He told the IRS he should not have to pay taxes because the government had not satisfied his claims.

The final straw was July 6th when a package showed up at an IRS office and inside the box was his picture and a six-inch metal pipe made to resemble a bomb.

No explosives were found, but a whistle was.

He's currently in jail facing multiple charges.
