Pasco Child Died from “Complications of E. coli”
A third-grade boy from Pasco died from kidney failure in a Spokane hospital.
While parents, friends, and family mourn, an investigation is underway. The Benton-Franklin Health District is trying to find the source of the boy's sickness.
At the time, they believe the incident is isolated. However, that may change as the investigation continues. The boy's kidney failure is believed to be linked to E. coli.
If you want to help Ismael Soto's family pay for his funeral expenses, there is a Go Fund Me that has reached a third of its goal.
Soto attended Captain Gray Elementary School in Pasco. School officials say there will be counselors to help grieving students and staff when school resumes following snow days.
