Distracted Driving: Does it Include Singing to the Radio?
Recently Amazon got called out for an article that stated drivers were prohibited from singing along with the radio while driving to deliver packages. Amazon denied this accusation of course. And said they do have cameras in vehicles but they do not tell drivers they can't sing in the car.
Distracted driving in Washington State is a continuing issue and we all need to be reminded of what laws are in effect to help curb it.
Is it illegal to sing along to the radio?
Still, the rumors saying the opposite were convincing.
The rules for distracted driving are strict for most companies that employ drivers of any kind.
Are you more distracted when you are singing to the radio? We certainly hope not.
I would think the possibility of experiencing any "road rage" would be lessened if you make it a habit to listen to the radio while driving. And that's a good thing!
Years ago we told an April Fool's joke on the radio and said a new law was going Into effect that would prohibit people from smoking in their vehicles. People went BALLISTIC!! We were still letting people know it was a joke weeks later. (A lot of people still smoked back then)
I'm so happy many people were able to give up smoking. Hopefully, we are learning to be a healthier America!
But, my point is...Let's hope we will always be able to enjoy our private vehicles to do what we want in them. It's our own private space with all the luxuries we enjoy for a comfortable drive. And, singing to the radio is something I think most people want!
Why do people turn down the radio when finding an address?
I do think it's funny that most of us turn the radio down when we're finding an address. We humans are funny creatures, aren't we? I know for me, I feel much less lonely on a long road trip if I'm singing to all the songs I know and love. We hope you feel the same. Be sure to find us on the 98.3 The Key Mobile App!
