Great Kennewick Police Work Collars Alleged Double Armed Robber
Two armed robberies were allegedly perpetrated by twenty-one year old Kevin Kurpkat Jr. this morning at the 7-Eleven Store on West Clearwater Ave and then another stick up at the Circle K store at 6006 W. Clearwater.
The first armed robbery happened just after 1:30 a.m. at the 7-Eleven when Kurpkat reportedly entered the store wearing a mask, hoodie, gloves and a dark colored jacket, pointed a semi-automatic pistol at the clerk and demanded cash from the register. He fled westbound on foot after being handed a sack of money.
Then right around 4:00 a.m. a man with a similar description and armed with a handgun stuck up the Circle K on Clearwater. As he was leaving, an officer spotted him running and took him into custody without incident. He was questioned by Detectives and booked in the Benton County Jail for two (2) counts of Armed Robbery. The public is asked to come forward if they have any information pertaining to these crimes.
