ALERT: Traffic Light Revision Takes Affect on Steptoe Today

The intersection of Steptoe and Clearwater is getting a traffic revision today and you'll need to be aware of it if you are driving in the area.

The City of Kennewick is updating a high-traffic, dangerous intersection with a new traffic light today.

It's an effort to improve the traffic operation at the intersection of S Steptoe Street & W Clearwater Avenue. The city will eliminate the left-turn flashing yellow light from the signal timing for all directions.

The intersection has been a concern since several accidents over the last few years has made the intersection a dangerous one.

Left-turn movements will only be allowed on a protected green arrow now. Drivers are advised to pay close attention to this change.

Information signs alerting the traveling public will be posted ahead of the intersection in all directions.
