Remember pen pals? Remember when a stamp could send your feelings across the world, how meaningful and rewarding writing an actual letter was? With today's technology and high-speed EVERYTHING, written letters are more and more of a dying trend -- even behind prison walls.

Prison inmates rely heavily on mail to get them through their time in prison. Through a website called JPAY inmates can send and receive mail, pictures, videos and music within less than 48 hours to-and-from loved ones. By filling out a simple application (name address, phone etc.) you could be communicating with your favorite "bad Uncle" within hours.

Like anything in this world, nothing comes free! The cost to send and receive emails run about the price of a stamp and the website has easy payment options for your convenience. To attach a photo, it will cost you an extra stamp and so will sending a video or your favorite love song! Why stop there!? You also have the option of sharing an inmates information via Facebook or Twitter to help generate funding!

I don't recommend going to prison anytime soon, but if you find yourself in that spot you will at least have the option of staying connected with our ever-changing social world!
