Woody’s Tips: How to Sharpen a Lawn Mower Blade [VIDEO]

I can't believe I used to go to a mower shop or blade guy to have my lawn mower blade sharpened. With a couple simple tools you can do it yourself! A couple things I didn't mention in this short video: removing the blade is simple. Turn your mower on its side, wear a leather glove on your left hand to hold the blade and use your right hand and the proper wrench or socket to remove the center bolt. Also, upright your mower while you're sharpening so gas and oil don't leak. The grinder is called an angle grinder, available pretty much anywhere. In addition to protective eye wear, use hearing protection. Now watch the sparks fly!
