Tomorrow is Ash Wednesday as well as the beginning of Lent. What exactly is this ordeal though?

It tends to be a Catholic and Christian recognition that starts on Ash Wednesday and runs around 40 days until Easter Sunday. The period of 40 days between Ash Wednesday and Easter is commonly called Lent. During Lent the tradition is to fast, although over the years the amount of food people have been allowed to consume has increased. Some people rather than give up most of their food for 40 days choose to take part in Lent by giving up something meaningful to them for the period, such as coffee or smoking.

So what does this mean about today? Hey, it means go have fun! Drink that coffee and...uh...don't smoke kids. It is your last day to live the Mardi Gras lifestyle so enjoy it!
